JeannieBags started five years ago when I couldn't find handbags and totes I really, truly loved. Everything I tried was too big (or too small) ... didn't have enough pockets ... didn't use the right fabric ... just didn't fit my style. What's a poor gal to do?

Make my own bags, that's what! And just like that, JeannieBags was born.

I started experimenting with store patterns, then began developing my own. I quickly remembered how much I loved to sew as a kid, and before long my creative juices were running at full speed. I started selling my bags on Ebay and Etsy, and word began to spread. Today, I'm delighted to be making bags for customers all over the world.

It probably comes as no surprise that I'm a dyed-in-the-wool fabricoholic (no pun intended). Few things make me as happy as browsing through bolts and bolts of material, thinking "what a beautiful tote this would make!" or "that's the perfect fabric for my next diaper bag project!". In fact, my love for quality fabrics has grown so much that I simply have to share them with quilters and other sewing enthusiasts who've become loyal customers over the years.

I've been fortunate to have lots of support from family and friends. In fact, our signature bag designs are named for these special people. Katee, Kelcee and Lexcee are beloved nieces; Rosie, my dear grandmother and Gracie, a favorite aunt. You can probably guess who the original Jeannie Bag design was named for. And the Barbie Bag, while also my namesake, is named in honor of my favorite childhood doll.
